LADY GAGA Has Inspired The Name Of New Insect Species
Lady Gaga has become the inspiration for the name of a newly discovered insect species.
A PhD candidate from the University of Illinois named Brendan Morris was the one who discovered the insect - a treehopper species from near the Pacific coast of Nicaragua - and decided to name it after the pop star.
A new treehopper species has been named “Kaikaia gaga” after @LadyGaga in an effort to bring more awareness to the insect group:— Pop Crave (@PopCrave) March 10, 2020

According to Morris, the "Kaikaia Gaga" is a female treehopper that has distinct features no other treehopper in this planet has. "If there is going to be a Lady Gaga bug, it’s going to be a treehopper, because they’ve got these crazy horns, they have this wacky fashion sense about them."
Gaga isn't the first musician to be named after a living creature. In 2017. a breed of crustacean called "synalpheus pinkfloydi" was named after legendary band Pink Floyd. Last month, Metallica also inspired the name of another crustacean species "macrostylis metallicola".
