MOIRA Couldn't Believe She Was Chosen To Sing "Reflection" After LEA & XTINA: "My Style Is Very Far From Theirs"

Disney Philippines has found the new voice to sing Mulan's iconic theme song "Reflection". Who is that girl? It's none other than Moira dela Torre!
In a MYXclusive interview with VJ Samm, the Philippines' most-streamed artist recalled the moment she heard the news. "I paused because I'm like, 'What? No. It can't be'," shared Moira. "I love the original versions of "Reflection". I have so much respect for it and my style is very far from theirs so I really, really couldn't believe it. I'm very grateful that Disney gave me this chance."
"Reflection" was originally sung in the 1998 animated film by the Philippines' very own Lea Salonga while a then 16-year-old Christina Aguilera recorded a pop version.
And now, Moira joins the ranks of these powerful divas as she brings new life to "Reflection" for the live-action version of Mulan. It's a dream come true for the singer, considering her shared connection with the song. "It's the very first song I learned in full. It's the first song I sang in public on my own. I'm guessing I'm seven or nine when I sang it on church and when I sang it singing contests in school," she revealed. "It was my only multiplex growing up that has a minus one. It means so much to me because it talks about bravery. It talks about being a woman and empowering others to fight their battles."
We will hear Moira dela Torre's version of "Reflection" very soon. In the meantime, watch VJ Samm's full interview with Moira about her latest achievement below:
