SHANTI DOPE Reflects On Impact Of "Amatz" Ban On His Future Music
OPM rap sensation Shanti Dope just released a brand-new single titled "Normalan" and it's been well-received by fans. The song talks about people who are not yet ready for commitment.
Parang normalan lang yung nangyayari," he explained the song's meaning to VJ Ai dela Cruz in a MYXclusive interview during his shoot for the song's music video.
Last year, the "Amatz" controversy rocked Shanti's world but thankfully, he was able to bounce back as quick as his rap verses.
To give you a refresher, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) banned the song for allegedly containing lyrics about drug use. However, according to Shanti, "Amatz" is just about choosing your own kind of high.
Looking back on the issue, Shanti thanked his supporters who never lost faith in him especially during the height of the issue: "Lagi akong nagpapasalamat, buong puso.
Going back to "Normalan," Shanti has already shot the track's music video which will drop sometime in March. The MV stars up-and-comer Dalia Varde—also seen in Maymay Entrata's "Kakayanin Kaya"—as Shanti's leading lady. Dalia will soon be seen on iWant's He's Into Her alongside Donny Pangilinan.
