5 Reasons Why We Believe That 2020 is Maris Racal's Year
1. She kicked 2020 off with hit zombie film Block Z.
Mariestella Racal, better known as Maris Racal, first graced us with her charm as the "Singing Sunshine of Davao" of the Pinoy Big Brother: All In in 2014. After a few challenges and eliminations, she won as the 2nd Big Placer of the reality competition show.
After Maris left the house, projects started piling up in her doorstep, and her fandom Mariestellers couldn't be happier! While we are sure that she and her fans will always be thankful for every opportunity that has already come her way in the past, we couldn't help but believe that 2020 is going to be her year. If you want to know our reasons, here's the rundown of it all!
Her latest film Block Z, where she played as a medical student named Erika, simply showed what she can do as an actress. While it's already given that the film had an interesting plot, what fans truly loved is how Maris' character range grew from being the fun and supportive best friend to a fierce and protective one!
2. She slays the small screen as Peachy.
Ever since she stepped outside of the Pinoy Big Brother house, we saw how she transformed into one of the most sought-after faces in the scene. But it was when she played the role of Peachy in the drama Pamilya Ko that viewers started seeing her as a prominent actress. With the character's perky yet feusty attitude, a lot of people began relating to her and spontaneously became the most adored anti-hero on our television screens at the moment!
3. She's becoming a viral queen on Twitter.
We always saw Maris as a bubbly girl who has a witty comeback on Twitter every time someone says something about her. But there's something about this year that made her Twitter account phenomenal! Her fans even started calling her a "viral queen" because most of her tweets reach thousands of retweets and likes. From her relatable video of being annoyed at her printer to her funny caption on her photo with Julia Barretto, this girl is definitely on a roll!

Since Maris has been actively giving her followers snippets of songs that she composed, we couldn't help but anticipate when she plans to release them or, perhaps, a second full-length album! If you want to hear more of her stellar compositions, she posts them mostly on Twitter. She also posts cover songs, so you wouldn't have to wait for more videos to hear her angelic voice.

5. She's leading her first iWant series.
The number one thing that Maris and her Mariestellers are excited for this year is the fact that she's leading an iWant original series for the first time. In the series entitled Beauty Queens, Maris will be acting alongside real-life beauty queens Gloria Diaz, Winwyn Marquez, and Maxine Medina. And according to the series director Joel Lamangan, he requested for her to lead the show! We always knew she had it in her!

As Maris continuously makes us fall in love with her beauty, personality, and superb acting and singing skills, we know that her star will only shine brighter from here on out. This 2020, we are thrilled about what's next in this dazzling actress' career!
