SAM SMITH Finally Reacts To Viral Filipino Student Covering Their Song
The internet has once again worked its magic!
Grammy-winning singer Sam Smith, who has adapted non-binary pronouns they/them, has finally seen the viral video of the young Filipino student singing their 2017 heartbreak hit "Too Good At Goodbyes" in a mall's free karaoke setup.
Apparently, the boy has been identified as Carlmalone Montecido, the "Blind Balladeer of Bacolod" from the first season of the reality singing competition Tawag Ng Tanghalan on It's Showtime back in 2017. ABS-CBN has also reported that Carlmalone is currently gearing up for the upcoming World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Anaheim, California on July 24.
Currently, Carlmalone's original viral video posted on Facebook by user Trixie Madison has already garnered 7.7 million views, 384k reactions, and 247k shares just three days since its upload. It also prompted many Filipinos to tweet Sam, urging them to watch the video.
And now, the singer has finally replied not just by typing their reaction but also by reposting the video to their 8.1 million followers on Twitter and 14.5 million followers on Instagram! It seems the TNT finalist's spot-on, effortless rendition of the song has left quite the impression on the English singer. Check out their reaction:

Same, Sam. Same. Now, how about a duet between the two of you?
