FlipTop Battle League is celebrating its decade of influence in the local hip-hop scene with a two-day festival whick kicked off on February 7!

Day 1 of The FlipTop Festival was a grand gathering of music icons, game-changers, and promising rookies from different parts of the country. FlipTop Battle League founder and president Anygma curated an amazing lineup for the festival's three stages and we got to witness some really noteworthy wordsmiths and artists grind to the best of their ability last night. Fans braved the intense rain for the love of the culture!

We caught up with one of the festival headliners at the Main Stage: Al James. He may not be a battle emcee but he admits being inspired by FlipTop since its early days.

"Napaka-overwhelming, syempre. Hip-hop pa rin," the "Repeat" rapper said during our MYXclusive interview.

We also got the chance to chat with one of the pioneer battle rappers since the league's humble beginnings, Zaito who's really proud of what FlipTop has become over the years.

Other headliners on the Main Stage last night were Shehyee, Pricetagg, Shanti Dope, and Gloc-9 who fittingly performed his hit "Lando". The "Simpleng Tao" rapper also fanboyed over one of the OGs, Masta Plann , after his set.

On the second stage, we got so hyped seeing Calix and BLKD perform their hard-hitting bars. Meanwhile, the third stage showcased amazing underground rappers Damsa, Ikiao, and Asser.

Of course, the festival also put the spotlight on highly anticipated battle rap pairings known as Dos Por Dos as Sinio and Tipsy D faced off against Jonas and Lhipkram. We can't wait to see its official batle video soon!

Day 2 of #TheFlipTopFestival is happening today and it's also packed with amazing perfomers! In the meantime, check out some MYXclusive photos from last night's spectacular gathering of hip-hop lovers in the gallery above!
