SAM RAIMI In Talks To Direct 'Doctor Strange 2'
After Scott Derrickson stepped down as director for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness due to "creative differences", Marvel Studios has been on the look out for his successor.
Now, they may have already found just the right guy to helm the sequel. Variety reports that Sam Raimi is being considered to helm 'Doctor Strange 2'. Marvel's chief creative officer Kevin Feige has yet to release an official statement.
Raimi, of course is no stranger to doing superhero films as he was responsible for bringing Spider-Man to the big screen in 2002. To a lot fans (including myself), it would all come full circle if the project pushes through as he once referenced the Doctor Strange character in Spider-Man 2. We're all for it!
Slated for release in 2022, 'In the Multiverse of Madness' will see the team up of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).
