MATTY HEALY Hospitalized For "Serious Sickness", Assures Fans He Is "Alive And Well"
The 1975 was forced to call off a gig in Brisbane, Australia after frontman Matty Healy "was hospitalised due to a bout of serious sickness," according to a statement released by the band via Twitter.
According to the statement, the doctor has advised that Matty was "too weak to play." The band apologized to fans for the late announcement. "We hope to be back on track for tomorrow's show in Sydney... We are all devastated to miss tonight's show but have to put Matty's welfare first."
A couple hours later, Matty went online to assure fans that he is "alive and well" and that things "just got way too vibey." He added, "I’m still taking it easy but I’ll see you tonight for maybe quite a calm set which could be nice anyway!!"
