Award-winning director Bong Joon Ho has shared about his plans the HBO adaptation of his critically acclaimed film Parasite.

The Korean director exclusively told The Wrap: "So I had all these key ideas accumulated from when I started writing the script. I just couldn’t include all those ideas in the two-hour running time of the film, so they’re all stored in my iPad and my goal with this limited series is to create a six-hour-long film."

Since bagging the Palme d'Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, Parasite has gone on to collect other prestigious awards in the international circuit. Most recently, it was named Best Foreign Language Film at the recent Golden Globes Awards and Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture at the Screen Actors Guild or SAG awards. The genre-bending class thriller is also an Oscar contender with nominations including Best Picture.

Parasite will be back in select Philippine cinemas starting January 29.
