LOONIE Freed On Bail
A Makati court has granted the bail petition of rapper Loonie and two other companions.
A copy of the court order was posted on the Facebook page of fellow rapper Mike Kosa. In an order dated January 23, the Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 150 stated three grounds for granting the rapper bail. First, the court found that the arresting officer's testimony was "full of inconsistencies and contradictions" and are "contradictory to human experience."
In its ruling, the court also called attention to the absence of the elected official and media representative "during the buy-bust operation, at the time of the arrest of the accused, and at the time of confiscation and seizure of the dangerous drugs." Their presence would have guaranteed that there was no planting of evidence and frame-up. Lastly, the court also said that the arresting officers lack credibility.
Loonie and four others were indicted for drug charges in September 2019. His sister Idyll Liza Peroramas and alleged cohort David Rizon have also been freed on bail.
