Grab your Mockingjay pins because the fourth Hunger Games book is almost here! The prequel, titled The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, will reportedly focus on the main antagonist of the Katniss Everdeen-centered original series—Coriolanus Snow or President Snow.

If you haven't gotten over your revulsion towards the tyrannical ruler of Panem and questions about Suzanne Collins's choice of protagonist, you might want to check the first excerpt of the new novel, which was exclusively released through Entertainment Weekly

Here, set 64 years prior to the events of the first novel, Snow is considered a hero, a teenager "born to privilege but searching for something more." He was introduced as a top student of the academy tasked to mentor contestants for the annual Hunger Games.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is scheduled for release on May 19, 2020.
