QUEEN Talks BTS' Influence, Says They Give Them Inspiration
Members of legendary rock group Queen shared their love for South Korean boy group BTS and K-Pop in general.
During a press conference in Seoul ahead of their concert, guitarist Brian May talked about the influence of the boys in the music scene and said they welcome the K-pop movement with open arms: "I’ve learned about K-pop in the UK and we always welcome people who use their own ways to spread a new influence to this generation. I’m sure they are going to continue to do great."
The band's touring frontman Adam Lambert also shared his admiration for the "Black Swan" singers, even going as far as saying they give them inspiration. "K-Pop’s visuals are amazing. The visuals are more than just something fun to see. It gives us inspiration. I’ve seen so many amazing visuals from BTS."
May also revealed during the press con that, thanks to their musical biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, their band was introduced to a wider and younger audience and he witnessed the effect first-hand when they landed in Korea. He was surprised at the amount of people waiting for them at the airport: "I had only heard about how great the movie did in Korea but it was shocking to see so many people greet us at the airport."
