YOUNG VITO's "AWIT" Taken Down On Spotify, YouTube Amid Transphobic Accusations
Young Vito's controversial rap track "AWIT" seems to be officially #cancelledt.
The song first went viral in December and immediately caught fire for containing offensive lyrics and transphobic slurs. "May nakilala ako sa bar kagabi. Ang ganda niya, pero parang may mali. Nung dumikit, mayroon akong napansin. Napakalupit, awit may lawit," the chorus goes.
The official studio version of "AWIT" dropped just yesterday, January 17, but was taken down in less than 24 hours on both YouTube and Spotify after the renewed backlash it received.
GOOD FUCKING MORNING, THE TRANSPHOBIC SONG IS NOW REMOVED FROM SPOTIFY!!!!!!
THIS IS WHY WE FIGHT, MGA KAPATID ❤️❤️❤️
What a win for our community! Thank you sa lahat na ginamit ang boses para sa tama.
Let this be a reminder na hindi na tayo papayag magpa-api, LALABAN TAYO!! https://t.co/6XP7ECMeWN pic.twitter.com/H6mGReZ6lN
