The newly released "Monsters" music video by James Blunt is his most heartbreaking yet.

The "You're Beautiful" and "Goodbye My Lover" hitmaker revealed that his latest song is about saying goodbye to his father Charles, who starred in this visual and is currently battling Stage 4 chronic kidney disease.

"Monsters is a eulogy to my father—except he’s still alive and kicking. But he’s not been well—his kidneys are functioning at just 11%. And with that realisation, I needed to tell him that, to me, he’s more than just a father. He’s my friend too, and that I love him," James posted on Instagram.

As James breaks down in the tribute video, he sings, "I'm not your son, you're not my father/ We're just two grown men saying goodbye/ No need to forgive, no need to forget/ I know your mistakes and you know mine."

Furthermore, the singer-songwriter didn't forget to thank everyone who shared their well wishes for his sick father in his recent post.

Thank you for all your kind words about this song and the video. Have you watched the video for Monsters yet?
