LOOK: ONE DIRECTION Wins Video Of The Year For "History" At The BRIT Awards 2017!
On the 436th day of One Direction's year-long hiatus, the lads snatched their seventh Brit Award and their fourth British Artist Video of the Year in a row for their nostalgic "History" video, beating their ex-member Zayn Malik's "Pillowtalk" among eight other nominees.
Liam Payne was the only 1D member who was present at the ceremony and accepted the award on behalf of Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. He shared a hug with One Direction creator Simon Cowell before he went on to make a speech, dedicating the award to their devoted fans and saying they can't believe they're still winning, "We've been taking a bit of time out and working on our solo material but One Direction is who we are and it's who we always will be. This one's for you, so thank you very much. Thank you."
Despite not being able to attend the show, the three other band members expressed their gratitude for their Directioners' support on Twitter. Louis even made a video where he said sorry for not being able to attend and that it surprised him and "it means a hell of a lot to us" while Niall is "still shocked" and Harry called them "unbelievable."
