"She's Very Brave And Bold": RACHELLE ANN Commends YENG For Pursuing Acting
Rachelle Ann Go only has good things to say about her friend and fellow singer Yeng Constantino's blossoming acting career. The latter just won her first acting nod at the recently-concluded Metro Manila Film Festival for her supporting role in the romantic-comedy film Write About Love.
In an exclusive interview with MYX, the Broadway and West End star recalled being in awe of Yeng's acting chops during a private screening with some of their friends including Sarah Geronimo. She said: "Sobrang galing! Ang galing! So pinanood talaga namin 'yun, kaming tatlo nandun kami. Ang galing."
Shin added, "Sobrang raw, sobrang natural nung acting at mapapaniwala ka. And I think that's the best thing about being a good actress—'yung totoo. Hindi 'yung mag-a-acting lang ako just for the sake of it. She was really good and I loved it."
Among the ASAP trio which was once dubbed as YRS, Yeng was the last to branch out of singing—Rachelle is now an international musical theater sensation while Sarah has been doing television and movie projects since 2003. Asked if they had any advice for the "Ikaw" hitmaker on her newest endeavor, the Hamilton star said: "Yeng is a very smart woman. She knows that we're always here for her, and we don't need to give her advice. She knows what she's doing."
"And I'm very proud that she's very brave and bold enough to do other stuff other than singing." Did you hear that, Yeng?
Before returning to London, Rachelle is set to hold a comeback concert entitled Rachelle Ann Go: The Homecoming this February 14 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Resorts World Manila. Joining her are Tony winner Lea Salonga, Idol Philippines grand champion Zephanie Dimaranan, and fellow ASAP Champion Erik Santos.
