Sony's expansion of the Spider-Man universe is shaping up nicely. After Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, we now get our very first look at the new origin film Morbius, starring Jared Leto.

The first official trailer for the spin-off film sees just how Michael Morbius attempts to cure himself of a blood-related disease. He eventually succeeds but has to pay the price, transforming into a living vampire with enhanced abilities.

It's also worth noting that our wall-crawling hero makes an appearance in the trailer (well, sort of). In one of the sequences, Morbius is seen walking past a Spider-Man mural and nope, it's not Tom Holland's version from the Marvel Cinematic Universe but rather Tobey Maguire's.

Another interesting bit from the trailer is the reemergence of Michael Keaton's character Adrian Toomes aka Vulture who also happens to be MCU canon. What?! We are so confused right now! Check out the trailer here:

Morbius hits theaters July 2020.
