AVRIL LAVIGNE Defends JUSTIN BIEBER From Critics Making Light Of Lyme Disease
Avril Lavigne came to the defense of fellow Canadian pop star Justin Bieber after the latter revealed he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease.
On January 9, the Head Above Water hitmaker tweeted her support for Justin and wife Hailey Bieber, who has also spoken up against "those trying to downplay the severity of Lyme disease."
Avril tweeted, "Thank you @HaileyBieber for your kind words. So sorry to hear about @justinbieber having to go through this awful disease," in response to a tweet from the supermodel thanking her for educating the public about the disease.
She added, "The fact that it’s hard to diagnose and is so debilitating was something I suffered through also which is why I’ve put so much of my time, energy and effort into educating and helping others [through] @avrilfoundation to keep their #HeadAboveWater."

Justin promised to explain further about this "incurable disease" in his upcoming YouTube docuseries titled Justin Bieber: Seasons.
Avril reaveled she had been diagnosed with Lyme disease in April 2015. "I never want others to suffer the way that I did, and because of that it is now my mission to raise awareness & funds that will help eradicate this life-altering disease," she said in recent Instagram post.
