'The Witcher' Star HENRY CAVILL Brings Epic Fan Experience To Manila
We're one week away from the debut of Netflix's upcoming action-fantasy series The Witcher and its lead star Henry Cavill and showrunner Lauren Hissrich paid Manila a visit to promote the show.
Lauren is lauded by fans for her work in Daredevil, The Defenders and The Umbrella Academy and as we are all aware, Henry rose to superstardom when he took on the mantle of Superman in 2013.
During the quick press conference hosted by Matteo Guidicelli, the Man of Steel star revealed that he's a huge fan of the video game based on the book series. The massive gamer lobbied real hard and even went the extra mile just to make sure that he ends up getting the role of Geralt of Rivia. According to Lauren, over 200 hopefuls vied for the part but it ultimately went to Cavill. She even said that when the project was offered to her and learned about Henry's desire to play the character, she already envisioned him as Geralt.
Later in the day, Lauren and Henry, who came all the way from Brazil for CCXP graced the fan event at the packed Ayala Malls Manila Bay. Showing zero signs of fatigue and jetlag, they interacted with fans and signed all the posters and collectibles they could. Henry said he's excited for fans to see the series which some dub as "the next big franchise" to be on the lookout for. The British actor offered one final message to his Filipino fans: "Mahal ko kayo!" to close out the event.
But it didn't end there! Some lucky Pinoy geeks were given an early Christmas treat after the fan meet and they were able to see episode one of 'The Witcher' ahead of its release. Check out the final trailer of the series below:
