Lea Salonga took to Twitter to announce that she will not be able to attend the Southeast Asian Games opening ceremony on November 30, Saturday at the Philippine Arena.

The Broadway star cited a prior commitment for the Singapore leg of the musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street for her absence. "Leaving on a jet plane for Singapore tomorrow and will begin our 14-show Sweeney run on Thursday night," she wrote. "This means I will not be performing at the SEA Games opening ceremonies on Saturday. I won’t be back home til after Sweeney is done."

Although Lea was not announced as a performer for the opening ceremony, many of her fans expected the internationally-acclaimed singer to perform the official theme song "We Win As One" live in front of all participating athletes from all participating nations. However, she already mentioned during the anthem's launch back in September that she won't be able to grace the opening rites.
