GERARD WAY Believes It's The Right Time For MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE To Reunite
After years of rumors and anticipation, the rock gods above have finally granted our wishes of a My Chemical Romance reunion.
The emo outfit's members, most notably frontman Gerard Way, shut down rumors of a potential reformation several times in the past. But now, the Umbrella Academy creator thinks it's the right time for the band to get back together.
According to Thursday vocalist Geoff Rickly, they had a conversation about MCR's reunion. He told Kerrang! "I spoke to Gerard [Way] about the reunion a little bit recently and he said it felt like it was the right time."
We would like to shout out @luigi.boccardo for taking the picture we used to announce our Shrine show, and for general art. Luigi is a talented photographer, and he may be proud to know we call the art the “Luigi.” ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ We would also like to acknowledge the sculptor, and the lovely city where it can be found - Pasquale Rizzoli, Magnani Chapel, 1906, Bologna, Certosa Monumental Cemetery (thanks to @bolognamusei | Museo civico del Risorgimento).
The producer of the band's 2002 debut LP I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love added, "One of the things he said was, ‘I don’t know if it would have happened if it wasn’t now.’ And I got what he meant by that."
Rickly ended his story by saying: "At some point, it just becomes too long, like, ‘I don’t think I can get back there, personally. It’s just too distant and too weird.’ So I’m glad that they’re doing it. I think it’s amazing. And no matter what, I’m going."
