MORISSETTE Breaks Silence After Walkout Incident, Issues Public Apology
Morissette is finally breaking her silence, days after she abruptly walked out of a supposed concert guesting.
Fresh off her It's Showtime guesting with A1 member Ben Adams, Mori issued a public apology in light of the controversy which upset concert producer Jobert Sucaldito.
In an Instagram story update, the "Akin Ka Na Lang" singer wrote: "Took some time to process things despite the schedules before me, but with much prayer and as I have never done this before, please let me start by saying sorry." She then apologized to Sucaldito and his artist Kiel Alo for the incident. "What I’ve done was out of character but I still do take full responsibility."
She continued by sharing the true reason behind her departure from the show. "I guess I was also triggered by the surprise interview minutes before performing, regarding the issues between me and my family. This private matter is something I purposely did not want to openly share for fear that healing might not prosper between us. The moment got the best of me, and it wasn’t fair to those who expected me to come out on stage as one of the concert guests that evening."
In the end, Morissette extended her gratitude to her supporters who've stood by her in the midst of controversy. "I am overwhelmed though by those who reached out to me with love and support, not just these past couple of days but earlier on this year, during this particularly painful season of my life. I appreciate all of you."
She also assured fans that she strives to "achieve a sense of balance and stability". "I also want to bring light to the concern of many towards my emotional and spiritual well-being," she wrote. "I feel for all those who are going through the same thing and just want to remind you, as I have been reminded, that we are not alone."
Morissette finished her statement by writing: "As Christmas is fast approaching, I am also reminded by the coming of our Lord and I am grateful for His love, kindness, forgiveness, and guiding hand in my life. Wishing you all and your families a happy blessed Christmas!"
