DUA LIPA Returns With "Don't Start Now" Single And Video
I don't think I've ever been this excited about a new music release since Avril Lavigne's comeback single "Head Above Water" in September 2018. Late Friday night, Dua Lipa finally unveiled the new song "Don't Start Now" off her upcoming sophomore album and a music video to match.
The track itself is an anthem for those who have officially moved on from a past relationship. Dua says so in the first verse, "Did the heartbreak change me? Maybe / But look at where I ended up / I'm all good already." The accompanying visual then backs up the overall disco vibe of "Don't Start Now," with the hitmaker going from one party to another.
"I chose to put this song out first so I could close one chapter of my life and start another," the British pop star said in a statement. "Into a new era with a new sound! It’s about moving on and not allowing anyone to get in the way of that. It also felt like a natural first song choice as I made it with the brilliant same crew I made ‘New Rules’ with."
