Fans Think "Sonic The Hedgehog" Redesign Is A Welcome Improvement
Fans and gamers freaked out after seeing the first trailer for the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog film. Majority of the game's longtime fanatics didn't like the character design that Sony Pictures came up with.
The fan backlash was so intense that the film's producers had no choice but to pull Sonic from its original November 2019 release date to give the character a much needed redesign.

What they had before was an atrocity. This looks better, but I'm on the fence. I grew up with SEGA, loved playing Sonic, I don't think this movie is the right direction personally, but that's just my opinion.— IncuSanity (@IncuSanity) October 27, 2019
that actually looks way fucking better— david 🧙🏽♂️ (@majin_goat) October 27, 2019
(credit to the original person who photographed this) now this is a nice design for Sonic, with the gloves and shoes too. A definite improvement and way worth it for the delay! #SonictheHedgehog #SonicMovie pic.twitter.com/8ROlyniM8R— Solarmorph 🎃 (@Solarlightphase) October 27, 2019
Everyone needs to support this movie because the studio did the right thing and respected the character and the audience. They didn’t “cave to internet trolls” they responded to valid criticism with class. Other studios could learn from this. #SonictheHedgehog https://t.co/bC4ntHh9xU— The Salty Nerd (@salty_nerd) October 27, 2019
