YELLOWCARD Sues JUICE WRLD For Copyright Infringement Over "Lucid Dreams"
Defunct pop-punk band Yellowcard has filed a lawsuit against Juice WRLD, claiming his chart-topping 2018 hit "Lucid Dreams" has similarities to their track "Holly Wood Died".
Per Billboard, former band members William Ryan Key, Peter Michael Mosely, Sean Michael Wellman-Mackin, and Longineu Warren Parsons filed a complaint on October 21 in the U.S. District Court in California, accusing the emo rapper and his collaborators of copying "melodic elements" from their song. Moreover, Yellowcard is seeking $15 million in damages as well as running royalty and/or ownership share on "Lucid Dreams."
