LIAM PAYNE On Staying With ONE DIRECTION: "It Would've Killed Me"
One Direction's Liam Payne opened up about some of his not-so-fond memories with the phenomenal group especially during the most "stressful period" in their career.
Appearing on Jessie Ware's podcast, the "Stack It Up" singer shared: "There’s no stop button. You’ve got no control over your life. That’s why I lost complete control of everything."
The singer went on to reveal that he "learned nothing about myself" during his days with 1D. He even underwent therapy during the height of their popularity. "I remember getting into therapy and the guy was like ‘What do you like to do?’ I haven’t got a clue. I just lived so long as this reclusive pop star who was afraid of people, who just stayed inside all the time. I needed to stop, definitely. It would’ve killed me." Whoa.
Liam did admit that their much talked about breakup scared him at first but he was eventually able to overcome that phase. "I was kinda just like, you’re either gonna be a crazy child star that dies at whatever age, or you’re going to live life and actually get on with it," he said. "You have to realise what the possibilities are."
