KARENCITTA Wants Local Radio Stations To Play OPM 24/7
On October 14, Karencitta threatened to quit music if local radio stations fail to play OPM day and night from Monday to Sunday.
"How are we going to bring OPM onto the international scale if our own country is not playing their own music? When we're idolizing other people's music?" she laments in a video posted on her Facebook page. "I think we should play more OPM music on the radio, Monday to Sunday, 24 hours on the clock."
"I swear if radio stations don't do this by tomorrow, 'IDK' is going to be my last single. I quit music."
Fans of the singer-songwriter immediately backed her up online.

Karencitta is great but at least guys just give your all by supporting all of the local music artists as well. It wouldn't hurt at all. You'll be listening on repeat, everyday. ✨💯🎶 https://t.co/WWFU43jggN— aaron (@NameIsAce) October 15, 2019
Still some social media users found her statement a bit "condescending."
the only person affected by karencitta threatening to quit music is karencitta.— no(boo)shi- (@_annakendick) October 15, 2019
I think the reason why people are being 'rude' towards Karencitta is due to her unqualified sense of entitlement. The only reason why she's gotten some international attention is because of the locals who supported her music so maybe she should be a little less condescending?— Ejay🥟 (@ejayyco) October 15, 2019
Karencitta gained attention for her viral hit "Cebuana" in 2017. Since then, the hip-hop and electronic dance music (EDM) artist has signed with VIVA Artists Agency and Hollywood-based label Capitol Records, released a slew of simmering tracks, and starred in a couple of films.
