Regine Velasquez-Alcasid wrote an apology today on Twitter about her “insensitive comment” comparing the smell of her old leather bag to Payatas, Quezon City where a large dumpsite is situated.

“I would like to sincerely apologize to the people of Payatas for my insensitive comment. It was not intentional and I should be more careful with the things I say.

The iconic singer made the comment on her YouTube vlog where she shared her bag collection. Kasi kayo, pare-pareho na kayo ng amoy dun,” Regine said, recalling the moment she visited the community for a documentary.
