In the Philippines, preparations for the Christmas celebration kick off on the first day of September.

This unique Filipino holiday tradition inspired Leigh Nash, frontwoman of the 90s alternative rock band Sixpence None The Richer, to write a song about Christmas in the country. "I've got the chorus written," she revealed to MYX exclusively. "I'm supposed to record that really soon, [and] that should come out before Christmas time."

Aside from the four-month celebration, the 43-year-old songstress also shared her fascination over the parol or Christmas lanterns. "I bought one last year when we were here," she said. "This time, I bought another one. It's a little bit bigger and it's white, and I can't wait to plug it up in my house. Hopefully, I can make it home with it without it breaking. My son kept accidentally dropping it off the nail at home but it still works. It's beautiful."
