Emma Watson fired back at online critics after being called a hypocrite for baring a part of her breasts in a photo shoot with Vanity Fair while being a strong feminism advocate.

"Feminism is about giving women choice. Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women with. It’s about freedom. It’s about liberation. It’s about equality. I really don’t know what my tits have to do with it. It’s very confusing. I’m confused. Most people are confused,” she told Reuters in a recent interview.

Some believed it is hypocritical for the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador to promote feminism while posing for a photo that objectifies her body. One of which is British journalist Julia Hartley-Brewer who said the 26-year-old "complains that women are sexualised and then sexualises herself in her own work."

Emma, however, was "honestly slightly taken aback" with the shot.

“We had been doing so many crazy things on that shoot, but it had really felt incredibly sort of artistic. I had been so kind of like creatively involved and engaged with Tim [Walker] and I was so thrilled with how interesting and beautiful the photographs were. But yeah, people have asked, and I’ve gone, ‘Is there a controversy about this?'”

On another note, the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast starring Emma and Dan Stevens will hit theaters this March!
