In a press release, both Disney and Sony confirmed that our friendly neighborhood will stick around for a third film in the 'Homecoming' series, one month after breaking the internet. "Sony Pictures Entertainment and The Walt Disney Studios jointly announced today that Marvel Studios and its President Kevin Feige will produce the third film in the SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING series, starring Tom Holland. The film is scheduled for release on July 16, 2021. As part of the arrangement, Spider-Man will also appear in a future Marvel Studios film. Amy Pascal will also produce through Pascal Pictures, as she has on the first two Holland-led films."

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is stoked to still have Peter Parker on board. In a statement of his own, he said: "I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it."

And while it's still unconfirmed if the character will appear in other films produced by Feige (aside from the two projects mentioned in the statement), fans assume the new deal would see a fitting ending to the MCU spidey saga before he continues his web-slinging adventures over at Sony. We don't know for sure what the future holds but this is a spectacular news overall!

'Spider-Man 3' is slated for a July 2021 release.
