The 1975 unveiled their hardcore punk side with their brand new single “People”. The band’s sound just got heavier and faster as lead singer Matty Healy is screaming almost all of the lyrics into a megaphone.

Its official music video is just as edgy too, packed with chaotic camera movements while the Manchester quartet is wildly rocking out in a room with flashing lights and images. And did we mention that you'll see a long-haired punk Matty too?

The song is heavily inspired by societal and political issues.“Well girls, food, gear / I don’t like going outside / So bring me everything here,” Matty yells along with angsty guitar shreds. He also admitted on Twitter that the song has so much swearing.

This track is included in their upcoming album Notes on a Conditional Form set to be released next year. Check out the music video of "People" by The 1975 directed by Matty, Warren Fu, and Ben Ditto below!
