The Taylor Swift-Scooter Braun issue has rocked the music industry, with some celebrities coming to either party's defense. Just hours after Taylor declared on Tumblr that Scooter purchasing her music catalogue was the "worst case scenario", the head of her former label Big Machine Records has denied some of the singer's allegations.

Scott Borchetta took to Big Machine's official website to air his side of the story. "In regard to a post earlier today from Taylor, it’s time to set some things straight." The record executive went on to say right off the bat that the singer's dad Scott Swift is a shareholder at the label and was thus made aware of the deal five days before it was announced. He also claimed that he sent Tay a text message to let her know about the sale.

"Taylor had every chance in the world to own not just her master recordings, but every video, photograph, everything associated to her career. She chose to leave," wrote Borchetta who also said that they "remained on very good terms" and "cheered each other on" when she moved to her new label UMG.

Regarding her bullying claims against Braun, Borchetta said "Scooter was never anything but positive about Taylor." He also assured everyone that "Scooter has always been and will continue to be a supporter and honest custodian for Taylor and her music."

Furious Swifties took to Twitter to slam the record executive who signed Taylor when she was 14.
