Back To The 80's: New Wave Festival is just around the corner to bring back the glory of the New Wave era! Before the much-awaited show at Cove Manila this June 29, we caught up with the artists who will headline the said festival.
We were warmly greeted by Farrington and Mann from British new wave group When In Rome, David Sterry of Australian synth-pop band Real Life, and Peter Coyle from Liverpool-based band Lotus Eaters.
Farrington and Mann, the guys behind the hit "The Promise", said they're happy that the song has become an iconic track which defines 80s music.
"My life is Real Life," quipped David Sterry who finds it humbling that his music transcends cultures and generations. He's also glad to be back in the Philippines after a decade. "We have a lot of Filipino people in Australia and they are beautiful people."
Meanwhile, Peter Coyle revealed that he wants to write and record here. The guy behind "German Girl" said the music scene in Manila is "wonderful" and he sees "real passion" in Filipino musicians.
