What If BITUIN ESCALANTE Joined Idol Philippines: "Hindi Ako Papasa Sa Judges"
Bituin Escalante made a bold statement on Twitter, adding fire to the on-going controversy surrounding The Search for the Idol Philippines judges.
The theater actress and former ASAP mainstay wrote on the social media platform, "If I joined Philippine Idol, Hindi ako papasa sa judges... kay Reg lang" referring to Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

At ok ako don.
The "Kung Ako Na Lang Sana" hitmaker added, "I can hear it nga e. 'Nandon naman po yung voice but I need to see star quality.'"

“Nandon naman po yung voice but I need to see star quality. “
Some netizens agreed with her tweet especially those who have been critical of Moira, James Reid and Vice Ganda's inclusion in the judges panel. They also pointed out that Bituin herself would be a better fit as a judge.
Well in all honesty Ms. Bituin, mas deserve mo maging judge. 🤷♂️— ➳ ۞ (@theburrgerking) June 4, 2019
You'd be a far better judge than the other 3.— bugsycutee (@bugsycutee) June 4, 2019
Malamang siguro. Mashado mataas yung standards nung 3 na judge. Pang world class. lol— edison lim (@edisonllim) June 4, 2019
Meanwhile, some chided her for supposedly piling on more "hate" for the embattled judges while others threw shade at the OPM diva.
Magaling po kayong singer, don’t sell yourself short. Don’t go this route. You’re better than this.— LOLA STARK (@grumpyxbean) June 4, 2019
Hindi mabubuhay ang matamlay na career kung makikiuso ka sa paghate.
Bakit kaya wala man lang kumukuha sa iyong judge kahit saan competition? Just asking..— susanf (@suesan717) June 4, 2019

Bituin later clarified the intention behind her original tweet: "I’m not trying to serve tea or throw shade. It’s a moment of self awareness. I am a singer but to other people that is just not enough. But I am ok with that."

It’s a moment of self awareness. I am a singer but to other people that is just not enough.
But I am ok with that. 😊
She also compared the show to its American counterpart, saying that's just the "brutal" nature of the business.
Even American Idol was brutal. Remember Simon Cowell’s painful takedown of Jennifer Hudson? But that’s the nature of the business. It is brutal. And it’s not based solely on raw talent.— bituin escalante (@gobituin) June 4, 2019
But that was not enough to pacify some of the show's supporters.
Next time if you feel like venting out ur frustrations sa unfairness of it all huag ka na mandamay
A couple of weeks back, we got the reaction of Moira about the criticism they've been getting. Check it out here:
