Killer Doll CHUCKY Gets A Terrifying Facelift In 'Child's Play' Reboot
Scary movie fans are in for a treat as one of the most iconic characters in horror film history - Chucky - is coming back for the 2019 reboot of Child's Play.
One thing you'll notice with the horror icon is the change in his appearance. It was a conscious decision on designer Todd Masters' part who told Horror Geek Life, "Any time you’re faced with a remake or a redo, or even the slightest redesign, you’re always going to be dealing with an uphill battle." He added, "People are going to have their fixed-in memories. Images, especially horror images, or any type of effect that draws emotion, really does kind of burn into the mind. People take ownership of your stuff. Which is what you want them to do. You want them to be emotional about designs. Everybody loves Chucky."
Aside from the killer doll's apparent facelift, the film's origin story has also been altered. Chucky is no longer a product of voodoo. Instead, he's now a malfunctioning articifial intelligence. Check out the film's latest trailer below:
