Fans And Co-Artists Rally Behind SHANTI DOPE Amidst "Amatz" Controversy!

After news broke out that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is pushing for Shanti Dope's new song "Amatz" to be banned nationwide, fans and musicians alike have expressed their support for the teen rapper.

Both Shanti's loyal supporters and contemporaries in the local music scene like Gabby Alipe, Ebe Dancel, and Zel Bautista see absolutely no reason for the song to be banned.

Facebook page Concerned Artists of the Philippines also aired their opinion about the issue. In a lengthy post, the page pointed out that it's not PDEA's job to critique music: "Hands off our music! Police the druglords, not our musicians! Defend artistic freedom!"

Sandwich frontman and Eraserheads drummer Raymund Marasigan also broke his silence, comparing the situation to when "Alapaap" and "Laklak" grew even more popular when the said Eheads and Teeth hits, respectively, were almost banned in 1994.
