Rock legend Mick Jagger is set to undergo surgery that will replace a damaged valve in the Rolling Stones' frontman's heart, reports say.

This comes after the singer took to Twitter to announce the postponement of the Stones' upcoming shows in parts of the US and Canada. "I’m so sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets. I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone," wrote the 75-year old music icon.

The band was forced to cancel their tour after Mick was told by doctors that he couldn't perform. According to reports, the procedure was taken by Jagger as a precautionary move and the surgery's success rate is exceptionally high, with the singer just needing weeks of rest to be back in tip-top shape. It hasn't been announced yet when the band's tour will resume.
