SPONGE COLA's "Meron Ba" Music Video Hurts So Good!
Fresh from their successful Sea Of Lights concert last March 29, Sponge Cola has dropped the music video for their latest single “Meron Ba?”.
Their first ever music video in vertical format has a very interesting narrative that can pinch your heart a little because... #feels. This time around, there are no actors or band performance scenes. All you see is the series of activities on a guy’s smartphone but they found a creative way to show frontman Yael Yuzon singing.
It's the case of a guy who's in love with his “gig buddy” but is afraid that he'll ruin their friendship by admitting his feelings. When Catlover39 chat hims about the new song of Sponge Cola, he gets so nervous that he overthinks his reply.
He eventually musters up enough courage and types a lengthy message declaring his true feelings, only to back down at the last minute and delete everything. How sad, right? Can you somehow relate?
Aside from the #feels, there are a lot of cool Easter eggs in the video like the apps on the smartphone display spelling out the word “SPONGE” and the images of people close to the band. Can you spot more?
