Festival goers (locals and tourists alike) experienced first hand what the "Malasimbo Magic" was all about as they were treated to two days of art and music in a breathtaking, paradise-like setup. This year's venue was moved from the Malasimbo Ampitheater to a nature reserve park inside a jungle with an easy access to Puerto Galera's white beach. Talk about a dream weekend getaway!

Day one started on a high note. Aside from the finest local acts the country has to offer who came from all sorts of genres imaginable, the show was headlined by the ever so "mapanakit" I Belong To The Zoo and indie folk up-and-commers Munimuni who swept music fans off their feet with their soothing music that's very fitting of the venue.

International acts Laneous and Grammy award-winning R&B singer/pianist Robert Glasper capped off day one and threw one heck of a soul/jazz and dance party much to the festival goers' delight.

The second and final day of the fest was graced by more local bands including IV of Spades who made their Malasimbo debut. The trio dished out hits from their latest album CLAPCLAPCLAP! as well as their well-known hits like "Hey Barbara" and "Mundo". Their set was straight fire, even foreign festival goers couldn't help but jive to their music!

Anomalie - an electronic/dance act from Canada - threw a midnight jungle bash of his own while Fil-Am rap dynamite Ruby Ibarra and her band The Balikbayans set the entire venue on fire for the second straight night!

And like we mentioned, aside from the musical aspect of the entire festival, it was a haven for the artsy folks to feast their eyes on. Artworks crafted from recycled materials by various local artists were showcased during the event. Other activities included a DJ stage and a silent disco stage for a unique party experience.
