THE RANSOM COLLECTIVE Signs With Mustard Music
Universal Records' sub-label Mustard Music recently introduced the latest and biggest addition yet to their growing roster of young, fresh and up-and-coming local artists.
The Ransom Collective—composed of Kian Ransom, Leah Halili, Jermaine Peck, Muriel Gonzales and Redd Claudio—has been in the local band scene for quite some time now and has gained a strong following over the years with their unique sound and soothing music.
According to the six-piece group, they have been self-producing their own material for the better part of their career as a band but they're glad to have finally landed a recording deal with Mustard!
Kian, as the band's frontman, has always been the main driving force of the group in the songwriting department. But over the years, they've managed to make everything a collaborative effort. And when it comes to the songs they come up with, the band revealed they sometimes argue over the creative direction (like any other group) but they make it a point to all be on the same page at the end of the day.
The band also excitingly revealed that they're finally working on the followup album to their 2017 effort Traces which spawned pop folk hits like "Settled", "Tides", and "Fools."
The record's vinyl edition was distributed by Offshore Music, but the group clarified they were never signed by Ely Buendia's label.
