Search for the Idol Philippines recently introduced Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Vice Ganda, James Reid and Moira dela Torre as its panel of judges but there are fans who found the lineup somewhat disappointing.
Sorry to say this but i don't james reid is competent enough to be a judge in Idol Philippines he's better at performing than talking lol tbh— anj (@SuperbVicey) February 26, 2019

I got surprised and a bit disappointed when I saw the roster of judges for #IdolPhilippines. I was expecting caliber artists like Lani , Jaya, RNB royalties Kyla and Jay R or Sarah G. I am hoping for a twist.— NSS (@SilvestreNestor) February 26, 2019
Jaya, whose name came up on the fans' list of artists that could've been better part of the show, defended the selected judges. "Kanya-kanya tayong opinyon. May mga taong hindi pa nga nappanood, hinuhusgahan na," the Queen of Soul said during the presscon of her 30th anniversary concert. "[The] bosses are very intelligent enough to pick the right judges for that show. Hindi nila 'yon ilalagay diyan kung walang gagawin."
She continued, "Bigyan muna natin ng chance... na mag-air. Let's watch, let's see. Hintayin muna natin kasi wala pa nga e."
Jaya added that the four have all the necessary backing to be a singing competition's jury. "Nandiyan si Songbird and si Vice, how can you go wrong? Si James naman, he's also a performer and entertainer," she said. "Eto rin naman si Moira, she's like the biggest artist now. How can you say she's not credible as a judge? She writes songs, she records. Dinadownload niyo nga sa spotify e!"
Jaya: At Her Finest The 30th Anniversary Concert is happening on April 3rd at Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila.
