JOHN LLOYD CRUZ Among Celebrities Spotted At The Art Fair Philippines 2019!
Karen Jane Ng
We are honored to have explored the wonderful creations exhibited at this year's Art Fair Philippines! The annual event happened last February 22 to 24 at The Link, Makati promoting beautiful works from the best local artists! Here are some of our favorite masterpieces:
"Consequence" by Dennis Bato
"Forest for the Trees" by Christina Quisumbing-Ramilo
"Inferno" by Anton del Castillo
"Cheap Medicine" by Oscar Villamiel
"Behold A City" by Ryan VIllamael
Spotted at the event was actor (and art lover) John Lloyd Cruz, who impressed Millet Martinez-Mananquil—named one of Manila's most feared and most powerful women by writer-historian Carmen Guerrero-Nakpil—with his knowledge of the contemporary visual art exhibition, the Venice Biennale.
"Look who’s at the @artfairph! #JohnLloydCruz who loves art. When I introduced Cannes resident #TettaAgustinBaverey to him, she asked: 'Have you ever been to the Cannes Film Festival?' To which John Lloyd answered: 'No, what I’ve attended is the Venice Biennale.' See, he really is an art lover," Martinez-Mananquil posted on Instagram.
We also saw other celebrity art enthusiasts present like Iza Calzado, Karylle, and Geoff Eigenmann!
Christine Bersola-Babao and Julius Babao
For me one of the highlights of Art Fair Philippines 2019 was to see Maestro Fernando Botero’s paintings up close. There are two artists who inspired me to collect art. In the Philippines it’s @onib_olmedo . Abroad, it’s Botero. Filipinos are fortunate to see his works at #artfairphilippines! A shoutout to a new friend Felipe Botero., The artist’s grandson. Thanks for the gift brother. #botero #artph #fernandobotero SWIPE FOR MORE PHOTOS
