IV OF SPADES' Musical Journey Deserves An Astounding Applause
Ever since our MYX Headliner for February burst out in the local band scene in 2017 with their groovy hit "Hey Barbara", IV of Spades' rise to the top has been unstoppable.
Originally composed of Unique Salonga, Blaster Silonga, Zild Benitez and Badjao De Castro, the band instantly captured the attention of music fans with their musical style heavily influenced by disco (which was definitely a breath of fresh air at that time), not to mention their irresistible, boy next door charm.
Starting out in 2014 as regular individuals who just wanted to play music, the band has managed to evolve not only their style and sound, but their overall identity as artists. Next thing you know, they've become one of the country's hottest bands and the best is yet to come for the boys.
Of course, just like any other rising acts, "Spades" had their fair share of ups and downs with the biggest blow coming last May when their lead singer Unique decided to exit the band.
People expected the controversial departure of Unique, who chose to follow a different path music-wise, to slow the band down - but it didn't. In fact, it has seemingly reignited the band's passion for music as the three-piece crew still managed to release hit after hit. And now, their much awaited debut album has finally come into fruition.
Meanwhile, IV of Spades deserves applause as well for their views on men wearing makeup. In fact, the boys boldly took on the Blindfolded Makeup Challenge. Watch the MYXclusive videos below:
