SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS Reacts To MAROON 5's Super Bowl Shout-Out
Fans of the hit cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants felt robbed after Maroon 5's epic Super Bowl LIII Halftime performance.
The band teased playing one of the show's hit anthems "Sweet Victory" (which would've been perfect, by the way for the huge sporting extravaganza) but things took a different turn and a lot of fans were left disappointed.
Following their performance of "This Love" and Adam Levine's impressive guitar solo, the singer looked like he was ready to belt out the iconic Spongebob tune but instead just showed a clip from the show before turning everything over to rapper Travis Scott who performed his hit "Sicko Mode".
Fans weren't having any of it and voiced their opinions on Twitter. Check out some of their hilarious reactions here:
Maroon 5 really played with my emotions by using a 5 second clip of SpongeBob just to go into Sicko Mode pic.twitter.com/LiZcEYlXIt— E̶ddy Sees Ghosts (@eddy_ruiz99) February 4, 2019

When Maroon 5 puts Spongebob in their Instagram video, then teases it before Travis Scott comes on, but doesn’t actually play the Bikini Bottom Symphony Orchestra. pic.twitter.com/Ao5HS86GT1— Mike (@mike5_5_5) February 4, 2019
However, SpongeBob is keeping it cool and even thanked Maroon 5 for including him and his Bikini Bottom friends in the performance.
So honored and humbled! Thankful for being included and for all our fellow sea creatures 💛💛 pic.twitter.com/F8lesQvDBz— SpongeBob (@SpongeBob) February 4, 2019
