Fil-Am actor Darren Criss just made us super proud as he bagged his first ever Golden Globe trophy making him the first Filipino to do so!

Earlier, the Glee star received the Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television award for his role in FX's The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. The show also won itself Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. Congratulations, Darren and to his mom to whom the victory goes.

"This has been a marvelous year for representation in Hollywood, and I'm so enormously proud to be a teeny tiny part of that as the son of a firecracker Filipino woman ... Mom, I know you're watching this... I dedicate this to you," he said on stage.

On becoming the first Pinoy Golden Globe winner, Darren shared, "I always tell people being half Filipino is one of my favorite things about myself and I had no control over it. I feel like I have been given superhero cape that I have to step up to the plate for. If anyone from the Filipino community looks to my work for inspiration then sign me up."
