A few days into 2019, there seems to be no end to good news—especially when American author Nicholas Sparks is involved! The hit film based on his bestselling novel The Notebook, which starred Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, is headed to Broadway as a musical.

According to People, famed Broadway star and singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson will compose the music and lyrics of the stage musical version of The Notebook. Michaelson herself spilled the beans on The Today Show, revealing that she's been working on the songs for about a year and a half. "It's been really interesting and really different for me to write [not from my] perspective. And the idea of this undying love, of loss, and of memory... It's just, I can't stop writing them. Like, I'm gonna have too many," she said of the writing process.

Meanwhile, Sparks said in a statement that he is "thrilled to work with Bekah [Brunstetter] and Ingrid in order to make The Notebook a reality on Broadway. They are amazingly talented, and obviously, the story is near and dear to my heart."
