TOM NAVAL Parts Ways With TOM'S STORY Amidst Sexual Misconduct Allegations
Indie post-rock trio Tom's Story stunned fans when bassist and founding member Tom Naval announced his departure from the band.
Naval broke his silence in a statement posted on the band's Facebook page, citing "personal reasons" for his sudden exit from the band. "From this day onward, I will no longer be part of the band. I am departing for personal reasons, and will be focusing my time elsewhere," Naval said.
This comes after Naval was accused of making sexual advances 5 years ago on a certain Ana Cereza, who posted about the alleged incident via Facebook: "Tom was my closest friend at that time and he took advantage of me while I was knocked out. He did not admit it to me until I confronted him. I owe it to myself and other persons who are also in my position to finally speak up."
A screenshot of Naval's alleged apology to Ana further sparked the ire of many netizens, especially the line, "I was drunk and kinda attracted to you (wag ka mag feeling), but that isn't a reason for anyone to do what I did." See the Twitter thread below:

The remaining members of the band—guitarist Gabba Santiago and drummer Degs de Guia—and their management and record label A Spur of the Moment Project have posted their official statements, too. It has also been revealed that Santiago and de Guia will continue as a duo from here on out.
