ANSEL ELGORT Will Transform Into A Teen Scammer In 'The Great High School Impostor'
Ansel Elgort will embark on a new role unlike anything we've ever seen him in before. The Baby Driver actor will be starring in a retelling of Ukrainian teen scammer Artur Samarin's real-life story entitled The Great High School Impostor. The film is based on a GQ article of the same title, written by Daniel Riley and published in May.
The Great High School Impostor is a tale about Samarin who posed as a teenager, five years younger than his original age, so he could be adopted by a childless couple in Pennsylvania. His adoptive parents later exposed his true identity to authorities.
The film, which is being produced by Jeremy Steckler of Condé Nast Entertainment, will have Ansel, Emily Gerson Saines and Mike Makowsky as executive producers. Robert Kessel and Jonathan King are overseeing for Participant Media, Deadline reports.
