AVRIL LAVIGNE (Finally!) Addressed Doppelgänger Conspiracy Theory
Everyone knows the conspiracy theory about Avril Lavigne being dead and replaced by a doppelgänger named Melissa Vandella, which have been swirling since forever (or just around 2003). The Canadian hitmaker hasn't addressed this particular theory until Australian radio station KIIS 106.5 directly asked her about it recently.
Host Jackie Henderson asked during the interview, "Did you laugh at the rumors that went around where you no longer exist and there's a clone of you?"
"Yeah, some people think that I'm not the real me, which is so weird! Like, why would they even think that?" Avril replied, as reported by Teen Vogue.
On another note: With the 34-year-old singer-songwriter's making her grand musical return in the powerful track "Head Above Water," a new album is expected to drop anytime soon. No further details about the forthcoming record were revealed, but Avril said she hopes "the album touches people."
"Having gone through the battle of my lifetime, I’m stronger than ever and looking forward to sharing my renewed voice and energy for my life with my fans through this new music."
